DEAD MAN

It all started as an experiment in 2003 by four guys with their roots in Örebro, Sweden. It didn’t take long before a new band was formed, and shortly after decided to go under the name Dead Man. All four with, great music experience that goes way back, put their psychedelic, folk and hard rock influences into a pot and began to stir.

The first result of the brew was a mysterious 7” that started to appear in the record collections of stoner and hippie fanatics. Fans was craving for more than just those two teasers on that already so hard-to-find 7”, and the natural step was to start recording a full-length album. So Dead Man snuck into the famous Svenska Grammofon Studion, where Soundtrack of Our Lives made most of their recordings, and began to work.

In early 2006 Dead Man were finally set to release their debut album. The album was praised by magazines like Rock Hard, Rumore, Metal Hammer and Stonerrock, among many others, and the band was described as “a top notch group, one of the very few out there”. The album’s release and the great reviews were followed up by gigs at the best venues in the capitals of Scandinavia.

So, in mid 2007 the band once again entered the studio to work on their follow up “Euphoria”. The record is a thoroughly album with a thick and full overall feel, with mysterious tracks like “Today”, bluesy up-tempo “High or Low” flooring anyone off guard, melodic “Rest In Peace” taking an unexpectable turn, dark and psyched-out “Light Vast Corridors” and nine minutes heavy rock tracks like “The Wheel”.

Whilst their debut album made a huge impact on the stoner and progressive fanatics, this album will take the band far away from being labeled as an underground band to establishing them as a genuinely great rock band. Euphoria is a psychedelic folk trip brewed together with the essence of darker and heavier sounds.
